Navigating Life After Loss
Friends,
It has been a while since I last connected with you through my Substack blog. For those who may not know, my husband and I have been grappling with the recent losses of our beloved animals, Elsie and Teddy, who passed away within days of each other, leaving a significant void in our lives.
Navigating this period of grief has been an emotionally difficult journey and my heart and prayers go out to all those who, like me, are experiencing excruciating losses and all of the emotions that go along with them.
During this time, I've continued to post my regular videos and i’ve taken solace in sharing my thoughts and experiences navigating grief. Those who have known the love and loss of an animal know exactly what we’re going through… and we thank you for your caring and support.
In "Feeling like an Empty Shell," I opened up about the overwhelming emotions and challenges of coping with loss. I shared how grief has no timeline—it ebbs and flows unpredictably. I've felt moments of profound sorrow, anger, and numbness, but also times of reflection and gratitude for the years of love and companionship Elsie and Teddy brought into our lives. These feelings are part of the healing process, a process that I'm taking one step at a time.
And in "Heavenly Hugs," I explore the concept of "Heavenly hugs," where signs or unexpected occurrences—like a song, a familiar scent, or a meaningful encounter—serve as gentle reminders that our loved ones who have passed on are still with us in spirit.

Prior to these devastating losses, my husband and I launched a 4-week program on Life After Loss. It’s comprised of four recorded sessions, designed to provide practical tools for those navigating grief.
Topics Covered:
Acknowledging and accepting your losses
Processing and releasing anger, sorrow, regret, and frustration
Dealing with "what ifs," guilt, and blame
Improving self-care during grief
Embracing the transformative aspects of grief
Integrating your losses into a new life
Finding purpose and meaning in your journey after loss
During this difficult period of grief and as I gradually return to my work and routines, your ongoing patience, prayers, and support are deeply appreciated. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you who are navigating your own challenges and losses. ~Peggy
